Our Team

We have a great team of language teachers and wellness instructors to guide your journey. We are extremely dedicated to helping students learn offering creative classes overflowing with interesting activities and games to make learning fun. We look forward to meeting you in class!

Dr Carola Dinu established Journey Education Centre in Hong Kong in 2011 and has 24 years of teaching experience across Romania, China, and Hong Kong. After 22 years in Asia and Hong Kong, she has returned to Romania to open Journey Education & Wellness.


Dr Dinu advocates for a teaching approach that emphasizes exploration and play to foster lifelong learning. Her educational philosophy, developed through her doctoral research, considers the perspectives of students, teachers, parents, and policymakers. She created the Adaptable Reading Instruction (ARI) Model, which customizes lessons to individual student needs and capabilities.
 

Recognized for her innovative and engaging teaching style, Dr Dinu utilizes modern technology to create safe and inclusive classrooms. She holds multiple qualifications, including degrees in Romanian, Chinese, and Education, along with certifications in Mindfulness and Life Coaching, and is training to become a Yoga Instructor.
 

The new "Learn to Read and Read to Learn" program will include reading assessments, shared and guided reading practices, and interactive activities, along with optional classes like Chinese and taijiquan, catering to students' interests.
 

Dr Dinu invites everyone to join the Journey Education & Wellness for a fun and enriching learning experience.

Tibi’s adventure began in his teens with a fascination for yoga and martial arts. His passion led him to China, where he studied the Chinese language at Nanjing University on a scholarship from the University of Bucharest and trained in Wushu. His diverse career spans hospitality, education, and business consulting, but his heart remained with Taiji, an ancient art he discovered and kept studying.

He worked for the past 22 years in China and Hong Kong and returned to Romania to spread his knowledge and reunite with his family and friends.

 

His credentials include 13th Generation Chen Style Taijiquan Successor under Master Chen Xiangwu. He participated in and won many Taiji competitions. He is also a NASM Personal Trainer and an Oxygen Advantage®️ Advanced Instructor. 

 

In our fast-paced world, filled with endless information, Tibi understands the importance of slowing down and disconnecting and invites you to join him in his Taiji journey. Taiji offers a peaceful break, where students of all ages can learn through play, engaging stories, and creative imagination.

Javonta Light is a dedicated educator and creative professional who bridges the gap between the performing arts and academic excellence. With a background rooted in the film and television industry—including work showcased on platforms like IMDb—Javonta leverages his experience in storytelling and media to foster an engaging, dynamic learning environment.

As an educator, he is passionate about empowering students to find their unique voices, encouraging them to combine critical thinking with creative expression. Whether in the classroom or through arts-integrated curriculum, Javonta is committed to mentorship and helping the next generation of leaders navigate both the professional and creative worlds with confidence and integrity.

Iunia Dinu is originally from Romania but grew up in Mainland China and Hong Kong. She began her career in the arts as a child actress in television shows in China.

 

After moving to Hong Kong, she became involved with the Hong Kong Academy of the Performing Arts, both as a performer and producer. In 2018, Iunia moved to Los Angeles to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Acting for Film.

 

Since graduating, she has continued working as an actor in addition to producing films. You can now find Iunia working at TriplePlay Studios as the VP of Production, offering her skillset to help promote upcoming film releases from a variety of Hollywood Studios.

Nareshini Govender hails from the coast of Durban, South Africa. After an impressive forty-year career in education—including seventeen years teaching young learners in Hong Kong—she has since retired to her home country. Her leisure time is filled with poetry, sunsets, and coffee dates with friends. An avid traveler with a keen interest in global cultures and cuisines, she is currently savoring her time as a devoted grandmother.

Francis Doogan is an experienced educator and consultant specializing in teaching methodology, with a strong focus on bridging Western and Eastern educational practices. His career is marked by extensive work in China and New Zealand, developing training systems, educational products, and curriculum for diverse learners.
